I bought this neat old carpenter's bench at my neighbor's moving sale.  It is rather rustic and looks as though someone used it as a sawhorse.  I sanded it to smooth nicks, but it still has the marks to tell the story of it's original use before this artist saw an image in it.

I painted the bench black and then painted the farm scene on it in acrylics.  The scene contains an imaginary house up on a hill overlooking a barn and windmill.  This bench would provide a nice place to sit down and take off your shoes or boots as you enter the foyer of a country home.  It measures 43 1/2 long inches x 11 1/2 inches deep and is 20 3/4 inches tall.  Lettering reads:  "Bless this house and all who enter."
